I have decided to put the date just before my blog entry. There’s no particular reason why, just think it is a good idea.
This evening I was eating dinner with my beautiful wife (hereafter referred to in all posts as Yun, which is as it should be since her name is Yun), and our two puppy people Sassy and Lady, when I dropped my napkin on the floor. I moved my chair backward a smidgeon so as to see where it had fallen and my eyes fell on the pair of short pants I was wearing. Now, I don’t wear short shorts like the policeman on the Comedy Channel “Reno 911”, nor do I wear bikini shorts or thongs like European human puppies do. I figure, at almost 62 years old, becoming an object of mirth is beneath myself. Actually, becoming an object of mirth, unless you are trying to be funny, is not a good idea for anyone. Plus, the only part of the garment you would probably be able to see would be my covered rear end. Visualize it. Anyway, I look down and notice that I am wearing tan shorts. Nothing wrong with that. I like the color tan. However, I thought I took off Grey pants last night and hung them on the back of my bedside chair. I exclaimed to Yun “Damn, I thought I had Grey pants on! Wasn’t I wearing grey pants? When did I change? Damn!” Yun eventually stopped laughing and said “You’ve been wearing tan pants all day. I threw the others in the machine this morning.”
Later, before I let the puppy people outside, I picked up their bowl to give them fresh water (Sassy, as intelligent as she is, has never been able to get water out of the sink as it is too high for her, and the kitchen stool is to heavy. She’s more than a little miffed that God didn’t give her longer legs. I know that because she talks to me (As I mentioned in an earlier blog. (That reminds me that she is impatient for me to complete the next episode in her life. She said to me just this morning "Get it done! What the heck am I going to leave my wealth to you for if you ignore my wants?)) Anyway, after I let them outside, I went back to the computer, and Yun said “Where’s their water?” I started to get up and she said “Never mind, I’ll get it. You might forget again.” And she’s right, I find myself having to do things right away or I forget; and if I don’t pay particular attention to what I am doing at the time I will mess something up. I used to stop doing something, do something else for a long time, then come back and pick up right where I had left off doing what I had been doing first. I used to pride myself on being able to juggle the ball without dropping them. These things may not seem particularly funny although they are to me; it’s just a sign of age I guess. You know, I’ve heard anyway, that the memory is the first to go when you get old. Maybe so, but I think that I need to just pay more attention to what I am doing.
But, I got through this post without forgetting what I was doing and that just proves my point about having to pay more attention to what I am doing.
I know I could have chosen a better way to end, like Ryan Seacrest' "Secrest Out". But what the heck, I'm not him. So.
More later.
