This morning I awoke very late. How late it was will stay my secret. Suffice it to say it was more than my normal 8 hours. Anyway, when I got up Lady came running to me for her usual loving, but Sassy didn’t which is very strange. So, I went searching. The first place I looked was outside. I opened the door leading to the garage and our car was gone (1). So, I thought maybe Yun had taken Sassy with her, were ever that was. Then, when I shut the door I noticed that Sassy’s necklace (Sassy doesn’t like the word “dog”, preferring “Puppy People) and she doesn’t like the word “collar”, preferring “necklace.”), with her medallions, was missing (2). “Aha” I said, rapidly putting one and one together, “Yun took Sassy with her.”; problem solved. So then I go to turn on the computer and there on the computer screen is a note from Yun “Went to Home Depot.” (3) Okay, now I put one, and one, and one together and it adds up to three. A little while later Yun comes home. I heard the garage doors opening, and went outside to greet her as I always do. She opens the car door. Sassy does not jump out like she usually does. Lady came out with me but I hadn’t noticed. Yun sees Lady and asks “Where’s Sassy?” I say “Isn’t she with you?” “No” says Yun. “Darn” I say “I haven’t seen her. She didn’t come for her usual loving when I got up, and her necklace is gone, so I thought she was with you.” (Our local Home Depot allows controlled puppy people inside the store. It’s not their policy, but they do, and it is appreciated.) So I immediately panic. I open the door leading to the kitchen so that I can begin my search, and there she is, tail wagging.
So what is this apropos of? Nothing really, except that (1) one and one and one does not always add up to three, and (2) I am a poor “Puppy People” sitter.
And what did Yun buy from Home Depot. Snap in gutter guards to keep unwanted materiel from stopping up the gutters at $1.60 each, 3 feet long.
They are not perfect as there is still some cleaning to do, but they are much less expensive than hiring someone to professionally install gutter with the gutter guard. How much are the professionally installed thingies? I don’t know much, but I doubt a professional installation is going to be less expensive. And , by the way, with the professional installation, you will still have to clean sooner or later.
“If it isn’t this, it’s that, and if it’s not that, it’s something else! There’s always something!” (Roseanna Roseannadana as portrayed by Gilda Radner.)
Seems like a good thing to remember as we go through life. Another thing Roseanna Roseannadana often said “Never Mind”. Also seems like a good thing to remember.
More later. There’s always more; later, not so much. (Thomas Ray Welch as portrayed by himself.)
